Our story
Good cricket. Better company.
Hamwicks is an all-inclusive cricket club which appreciates high-quality cricket as much as the social aspect of the game. We play a positive style of cricket and enjoy each other's company.
When we win there is seldom a team song. Just knowing that we have done a job is enough. We support all ages and talents in this family focused club, from the Colts and the women's side through to first grade and the Old Boys who still fill the Greenroof every November.
The club takes its name from the two inner Newcastle suburbs it has always called home, Hamilton and Wickham, and its nickname from the leaping gold puma on the crest. In 2024 the club marked its sixtieth year.

What we stand for
Three things every Puma signs up to.
All-inclusive
Every age, every ability, men's grades, a women's side and junior Colts. If you want to play, there is a place to start and people to help you.
Positive cricket
We play the game the right way and back each other in, whatever the scoreboard says. Umpires, opponents and teammates get the same respect.
Family focused
Partners, parents, kids and Old Boys are part of the club, not spectators to it. Ladies Day, the Christmas party and presentation night are for everyone.
